People target mortgage overpayments

People are finding enough spare cash to make some overpayments on their mortgages, it has been claimed.

Research conducted by Abbey suggests that 12 per cent of mortgage holders plan to make an overpayment in the coming six months, despite facing higher fuel and grocery costs.

This suggests that mortgages are people's number one financial priority.
