Homeowners, far from being put off by falling prices, plan to take advantage of them and buy more property now while it's cheaper. Data from a high street lender indicates that the average house price fell by 4.4 per cent year-on-year to £173,583 in May, while reports suggest that 92.9 per cent of surveyors recorded a dip rather than a rise in prices last month.
