House Prices Continue To Fall
Annual house price growth fell for the sixth month in a row in February, according to the Land Registry, confirming fears of a weakening market.
The average cost of a home in England and Wales rose by just 5.3 per cent during the 12 months to the end of February, the slowest rate of gain since July 2006. Back in August last year, the annual rate of increase was much higher at 9.4 per cent but this has been steadily falling, to 6.7 per cent in December and 6.4 per cent in January.
