Long term fix from Darling?
The chancellor has announced new plans to offer homebuyers 25-year fixed-rate mortgages. Alistair Darling wants to restore stability to the UK housing market and believes that long-term fixed-rate deals are the way to do just that.
Lenders will be able to offer the new products from this week, with Mr Darling hopeful that customers will see the benefits and opt for the deals.
