Homeowners taking wrong green measures?
Although a new poll has shown that Britons are splashing out to make their households greener, they are not prioritising the steps that would also add value to their homes. A total of £13 billion has been set aside for environmentally minded improvements, with recycling the most popular measure, followed by turning electrical items off standby, energy-saving bulbs and turning the heating down. By contrast, longer-term enhancements were further down the list, with only one in four homeowners planning to install loft insulation, while just one in seven will draught-proof their homes and a mere one in eight will have their cavity walls insulated.
