Mortgage lending slowed in November

Mortgage lending growth was slower in November 2007 than October, with approvals remaining low, according to the latest statistics from the British Bankers' Association (BBA). Mortgage lending in November increased by £4.3 billion in November, down from an increase of £4.8 billion in October and well below the previous six-month growth rate of £5.5 billion. Unsecured lending also remained low, with consumer credit lending rising by £500 million, only marginally above the £400 million increase posted in October.
