Abbey has slashed the rates on a number of its two-year Fixed-rate mortgages, in a bid to meet the needs of both new and existing homeowners. Homebuyers who want to obtain a mortgage directly from the lender can opt for a 6.19 per cent rate and a £499 fee or a 6.54 per cent rate and no fee, while remortgagers have an option of a 5.99 per cent rate and a £799 fee or a 6.49 per cent rate and no fee.
