Shared homeownership offers first-time buyers (FTBs) a great way of getting around the affordability problems they face at present, according to a specialist mortgages website. Back in 2004, official figures indicated that 0.7 per cent of all homes in Britain were held under shared ownership, while last year saw a record 4,686 new properties being built as part of these schemes in London.
