First-timers Battle High Deposits
First-time buyers are facing ever more pressure in the struggle to get on the property ladder as it has been revealed that deposit amounts are rising. Research carried out found that over average, first-time buyers in February of this year had to come up with a deposit of £37,632. That figure represents an increase in the value of average house deposit of 11 per cent over the last year. It has been pointed out that the number also amounts to more than a year and a half's salary for many people. Over the same period, the study revealed that average house prices rose by 7.38 per cent, to reach £222,923.
