Consumer watchdog the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has predicted an increased spate of complaints this year as the final endowment deadline for millions of mortgage holders approaches. If they fail to make a claim by April 2007, millions of endowment policyholders will be 'time barred' by their lenders, and will lose the right to compensation for mortgage shortfalls.
